Dr. Jennifer Bonnell’s book Reclaiming the Don: An Environmental History of Toronto’s Don River Valley” will be released by the University of Toronto Press in September 2014. A launch for the book is taking place Wednesday, October 8th at 7:00 p.m. at the Todmorden Mills Heritage Museum in Toronto. The launch features Dr. Bonnell in conversation with Toronto Star Urban Affairs Colomnist Tim Alamenciak. All are welcome. Dr. Bonnell also published Historical GIS Research in Canada, a collection of essays co-edited with University of Toronto Map and GIS librarian Marcel Fortin, in the spring of 2014. The book is available for free e-book download or in paperback from the University of Calgary Press.

Between the Lines Wins $10,000 Wilson Prize for Publishing Canadian History
Dr. Stuart Henderson’s recent book was featured on a podcast by The New Books in History. His book “Making the Scene: Yorkville and Hip Toronto in the 1960s” also won a Clio Award for best book (Ontario), and most recently, won a second prize, the Champlain Society’s Chalmer’s Award in Ontario History.
